Ducati Diavel V4 launched in India at Rs 25.91 lakh

- Considerably more expensive than its predecessor

Ducati India has expanded its portfolio by launching the new Diavel V4 with a price tag of Rs 25.91 lakh (ex-showroom). While some aspects of the power cruiser have been revised over its predecessor, a lot of components are completely new.

The engine, for instance, is the new 1,158cc, V4 Granturismo engine that produces 168bhp at 10,750rpm and 126Nm of peak torque that comes in at 7,500rpm. To the relief of its potential buyers, the valve clearance check interval is 60,000km, which is much longer than the previous generation model that was powered by an L-twin, Testastratta mill. This unit acts as a stressed member of the new monocoque aluminium frame.

Complementing its power-packed engine is a high-class hardware package that comprises 17-inch cast-aluminium alloy wheels that are shod with Diablo Rosso III tyres. Suspension duties are handled by top-notch 50mm upside-down forks up front by Marzocchi and a monoshock at the rear with both being fully adjustable. The braking hardware, meanwhile, comprises double 330 mm discs and Brembo Stylema monobloc calipers at the front and a single disc at the rear.

The electronic wizardry on the Ducati Diavel V4 is just as impressive as its hardware. It features a 5-inch TFT screen that shows the status of different riding aids like power modes, riding modes, and 6-axis IMU-based bits like cornering ABS, traction control, wheelie control, power launch, quickshifter, and cruise control. Lastly, Ducati also went back to the drawing board and bestowed the Diavel with a more menacing and imposing bodywork than before. It is available in two colour options – Ducati Red and Thrilling Black.
